Packing Up Boxes And Picking Up Pieces

vintage-brown-boxes_f1GPf8___LWhen you lose a loved one, especially a long-time spouse, it can be extremely hard to make changes. You just get used to the way things are (or should I say were).

That’s what I’m dealing with tonight.

Last week, I decided to move my desk into the bedroom and out of my “office” (a.k.a. the loft) for the sake of privacy and the hope that it might lead to some added productivity. Well, that required the relocation of several items in the bedroom and the packing up of others. Both activities have been incredibly difficult and I’ve found myself having to take frequent breaks to just lie across the bed and regain my strength and focus. Desk Calendar Shows Year Two Thousand Sixteen

Happy New Year! It’s officially 2016. Let’s hope it’s a good year.

As the ball drops and the fireworks pop in the air, it occurs to me that this is only the second time since 1987 that I have not spent NYE with my lovely wife Cindy. The first time was last year when she was in the hospital recovering from open heart surgery. As you have probably concluded by the subheading above, Cindy didn’t fully recover from that. She passed away on August 1.

This blog is to share my journey as a fairly new widower. It is cheap therapy for me and I hope that it will help some other folks too. I’m going to try to make this the blog I was looking for last Summer. Read More “Happy New Year!”
